Directions:

1. Open students’ Web-blog!

2. Write down your name and absent number on title description.

3. Write a descriptive text by the topic “The Most Inspiring Person in Your Life”!

4. Give the photo of that person to your worksheet.

5. The details of paragraph are as following:

(1) Identification: identifies the phenomenon to be described.

(2) Description of features: describes features in order of importance.

a. Parts/things (physical appearance)

b. Qualities (degree of beauty, excellence, or worth/value)

c. Other characteristics (prominent aspects that are unique).

6. All paragraphs contain minimally 140 words!

7. The aspects that will be scored:

William Henry “Bill” Gates III is one of the richest and influential people in the world. In 1975 together with his friend, Paul Allen, he co-founded Microsoft which became the world’s largest PC software company. That is why his name exists in the list of the world’s wealthiest people by Forbes.

Bill Gates or Trey as his nickname was born on 28^th October 1955 in Seattle, Washington, USA. By 2017, he is 62 years old. His hair and eye color is the same, light brown. Bill Gates’ weight is 64 kilograms with the height 177 centimeters. With his wife named Melinda Gates, they have three children in the family.

Besides being the best-known entrepreneur, Bill Gates is also known as a philanthropist. In 2000, he and his wife created Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It was identified as the world’s wealthiest charitable foundation in 2013. Through this foundation, Bill Gates donates large amounts of money to many charitable organizations and scientific research programs.

My Favorite Novel

I have a favorite book. It is not actually a book, but a set of novels. The story is about a magical world and dragons, my favorite mythical creature. My sister bought it for me when she went to England last year to finish her research. My sister gave it to me because she knew that I love story about dragons. I was very happy to get it. I put it next to my old collection in the cabinet.

My favorite set of novels consist of four thick novels. Each of it contains 500 to 600 pages. The text is in English, sometimes I have to open my dictionary to check the meaning of some words. The book cover is made of leather. The colour of the leather is different for each book, there are brown, light brown, yellow, and red leather. The title of each book is written on the left side and on the front side of the novel. There is also a box specially designed to keep all the novels. This box is covered by green leather.

My Rabbit

I have a rabbit. His fur is white and has black spots. He has long ears and a short tail. He also has cute red big eyes! My rabbit likes to eat carrot and other vegetables. When I release my rabbit out of his cage, he used to jump everywhere and hard to catch. So, I could just put him on his cage because I'm afraid that he might running away. I don't wanna lost my rabbit because I love him very much.

Saya punya kelinci. bulunya berwarna putih dan memiliki bintik-bintik hitam. Dia memiliki telinga panjang dan ekor pendek. Dia juga memiliki mata lucu besar berwarna merah! kelinci saya suka makan wortel dan sayuran lainnya. Ketika saya melepaskan kelinci saya keluar dari kandangnya, ia sering melompat ke mana-mana dan sulit untuk ditangkap. Jadi, saya hanya bisa menempatkan dia di kandangnya karena aku takut bahwa ia mungkin melarikan diri. Aku tidak ingin kehilangan kelinci saya karena saya sangat mencintainya.

~~DESCRIPTIVE TEXT~~

Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place or thing.

Teks Deskriptif yaitu teks yang menjelaskan gambaran seseorang atau benda. Tujuannya adalah untuk menggambarkan atau mengungkapkan orang, tempat atau benda tertentu.

Bisa dikatakan juga bahwa Descriptive text adalah teks yang menjelaskan tentang seperti apakah orang atau benda yang dideskripsikan, baik bentuknya, sifat-sifatnya, jumlahnya dan lain-lain.

Struktur Descriptive Text (generic structure) adalah :

1. Identification (identifikasi) adalah pendahuluan , berupa gambaran umum tentang suatu topik.

2.Description (deskripsi) adalah berisi ciri-ciri khusus yang dimiliki benda, tempat, atau orang yang dideskripsikan.

Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text :

- Menggunakan simple present tense

- Menggunakan attribute verb, seperti be (am, is, are)

- Hanya fokus pada satu objek tersebut.
